This poem is untitled
For those with which no title can be given

For the people ridden with disease
For those who lay out on streets

For those who have been put out from their jobs
And can barely find food to eat… for their families
Yet still find a way to live
For those on the brink of destruction
But still try their best to give

To the churches and give God his 10 percent
Because somehow with faith
a way can be made

This poem is untitled
For those on the street saying thank you and please
To those that give something when others give nothing at all

For those that pray on their knees
For those that walk with the trees
And let the wind guide their steps
For the people that have no place to go
Who roam with no home
But still feel like they have a home to protect

For the struggling children who –
have just enough time to –
wake up in the morning to deal with the day
get frustrated and picked on for the tattered clothes they wear and what their peers say
sit at that desk regardless of mental illness
and go to the classroom and stay

study and study and study
learn, learn and learn to make a way
and still have time to stay
after

play on their high school track and volleyball teams
and participate until late in the evenings
then work – there after school, after sport jobs
to help mommy and daddy pay their bills
when they are done they go to sleep and wake up, still…
and somehow do it all over again

This is a moment where all the unfortunate young women and men
can be recognized for the accomplishments they have made
Like the 110% days work they put in yesterday
is the same 110% they put in day after day

this is for the few that give
this is for the few that live
For causes.... that have no definite cause and affect
For the rejects and the prospects
For the people who work, put their money where there mouth is
And don’t care if they get acknowledged
Because in the end
It’s all about, what they have gained

For the people that never forget
To whom much is given
Much is required
And that requirement needs to be maintained

because the bottom line
is that we need more people
to help more people
so that more of the underserved can be made equal
with the help of services we provide

this poem is untitled
for the those who are untitled and labeled deprived
this poem is for the few that guide the unfortunate
towards the belief that faith can be the light

for those that teach
for those that reach out to lend a helping hand
treat them as people just like you and me
teach them how to fight for those rights
and give others the strength to see

that we… can do more
the kind of people that when they see you in need
they will say:
just telling you what to do is not enough
I will help pick you up
I will help you through the smooth times and the rough

so this poem is untitled
because a title doesn’t do enough

this is for those that don’t tell the world they are coming

they just show up
